The region of Schengen, one of the most beautiful wine-growing regions in Europe, is essentially known for the Schengen agreements signed here in 1985. These historic agreements gave Europeans the possibility to move freely throughout all the signatory countries. More and more people are visiting Schengen - this historical place - and discovering the excellent wines of the region.
The wines bearing the "Coteaux de Schengen" label originate from vineyards situated in the area surrounding the commune of Schengen. The argillaceous land and clayey soil of this region nurture full-bodied, ample and smooth wines with pronounced aromas. The excellent quality of these five varieties, Auxerrois, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris, Riesling and Gewürztraminer is essentially guaranteed by the meticulous work of the wine-producers in the vineyards and by the skills of the cellar masters.
We already have two reasons to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Schengen agreements which will take place next year. You will now find the five wines of the "Coteaux de Schengen" range in 37.5cl bottles with a new presentation identical to that of the 75cl bottles. The modern style of this refined label symbolises the great quality of these wines. Try the 2008 wines and taste it for yourself! You can buy the wines at the four POLL-FABAIRE sites in Remerschen, Wellenstein, Wormeldange and Grevenmacher or on the website www.vinsmoselle.lu.
